DOWNLOAD

I: Pick your Universe. Each publisher has their own characters, and tends to mix them up between series, but characters never pass between publishers.
II: Pick your series or “collection”. There can be many variations on a theme, but under each header they are in rough chronological (publish date) order. Collections have been put together by me from various sources centring around some of my favourites.
III: Download each issue, arc, or volume. Various download sites are being tried out and may be rotated at any time. If a link is dead, leave a comment and specify.
IV: Open. You may have to unzip to reach the .cbr or .cbz files within.
V: Read.
Va: If you use Windows, CDisplay is the most popular comic reader. If you use Mac, FFView, Comical, Jomic, and ComicBookLover are all options.
Vb: If you would rather not use any of these, .cbr files can be converted to .rar files by changing the extension (rename in Mac or right click>preferences on Windows), the same working for .cbz/.zip files, which can then be opened like any other.
Vc: To open .rar files in Mac I recommend UnRarX, and for Windows use WinRAR.

-UNDERSTANDING FILE NAMES-

Most comic readers are geeks, and geeks tend to like things organized. There is a method to the madness, much like in the nomenclature of chemical substances much resembling Chicago Author-Date Style.

Comic Title: sometimes abbreviated to keep uploading sites from recognizing and deleting them, but not usually.
Volume: Usually only included in the case of distinct volumes where issue numbers were restarted, (see: Wolverine, Iron Man)
Issue: Usually a zero or double zeroes followed by an Arabic numeral, sometimes with the number symbol (#). The zero keeps Sort: Name functional (ie, 004 is followed by 005 rather than 4 being followed by 14)
Arc/Issue Title: Occasionally included for the sake of description, especially in compilations (see: House of M, Civil War, Secret Invasion)
Date: Year of initial publication, for reference
c2c/noads: c2c = cover to cover, noads = pages with ads have been removed
scanner’s name: Credit to the handle of the person/group who bought and scanned the comic originally

However, this is only a guideline and reference, everyone renames things to fit their own tastes and that can be a bit confusing and frustrating when you’re trying to put a collection together.
